it happens every so often that someone will discover our music for the first time, whether by stumbling across our webpage/myspace somehow, or via a friend telling them about us. that’s always great. but i assume (well, hope, at least!) that while that happens fairly often, most people say to themselves “cool, i like this band/music”, and then go on with their day. i’ve probably done that many times myself with new music.
so, i just read an email on myspace from a new velmas fan. whenever someone takes the time out of their busy day to sit down and write a few nice words to us, that really makes me smile. no, seriously, i smiled! it’s a gesture that i know wasn’t required; nobody has to do that. but they took a few minutes to go out of their way to write a note to let us know that someone out there is listening, and that really means a lot to us.
oftentimes, it’s the little things in life that make the biggest difference.
