Zagg invisibleSHIELD – Update
by mike ~ August 5, 2010
This is a followup to a post I made about a Zagg invisibleSHIELD iPhone screen protector. Zagg did indeed ship me a replacement screen protector as promised. I finally got a chance to install it. It seems on the first one I got, the shield had not remained on the backing as they’d suggested, but was simply not there. I checked the backing, which I’d kept – nothing. Apparently I’d I applied the “alignment” piece as my shield, which worked surprisingly well for a week or so while getting badly scratched up itself, which makes sense as that wasn’t designed for that purpose apparently. So I now have the proper shield installed, only very slightly out of alignment (those things are hard to get perfect!), and I’m satisfied. I tried to pull it back to reposition it once, and that worked, but the second time, it was already fixed in place and that was it! Hopefully this one stays clear for a long time.
Here’s how it looks now. They say the little bubbles on there will vanish on their own shortly, and based on how the back went, I’m inclined to believe that.
Oh the back cover – it looks much nicer now that it’s set up. All the air bubbles went away as described and it looks much more uniform. The contrasting texture versus the front protector is actually useful in figuring out which side of the phone is which when reaching into my pocket for it. Who knew?
